Marchnad Llambed – Lampeter Market have won the UK Slow Food Award for the Best Market in Wales 2021

At the start of lockdown in March 2020 the market moved from its base in Lampeter’s Victoria Hall and with the support of UWTSD Lampeter re-located ouside on the beautiful Lampeter Campus. The Marked was also re-branded from the previous name, Lampeter People’s Market, to Marchnad Llambed – Lampeter Market, to reflect the new position in the town.

Since moving outside, the market has been thriving and has seen a significant increase in the number of local traders and customers. Now hosting 20+ regular food and craft stalls, local and tourist footfall has boomed.

This award from UK Slow Food for the Best Market in Wales reflects the Market’s commitment to promoting the value of slow food instead of fast food, and to platforming the considerable range of talent, innovation and pure great taste in local food production in Ceredigion and in the Lampeter area.

It also reflects the Market’s ethos and commitment to supporting the local economy through local food and craft production.
